on change, memory, and belonging—creating quiet, dreamlike
spaces where things come apart and find new form.
Weylin Neyra
B.1991
Miami, Florida ⨫ Austin, Texas
Weylin Neyra is a Miami-born painter whose work explores fragility, transformation, and the quiet tension between containment and collapse. Rooted in personal and cultural memory, his paintings often feature recurring symbols—most notably the glass vase—as vessels for both light and rupture. The boundary between figure and environment dissolves in his dreamlike compositions, creating intimate spaces where identity feels suspended, refracted, or slowly becoming.
Born to Nicaraguan parents, Neyra’s diasporic background informs the emotional terrain of his work—where beauty carries traces of longing, and transparency reveals as much as it obscures. Drawing from contemporary surrealism, poetics of space, and speculative memory, his practice visually maps the liminal zones between clarity and disorientation, visibility and interiority. His images invite the viewer not just to look, but to dwell—inside the space where the visible and the felt converge.
