Weylin Neyra

B.1991

Miami, Florida ⨫ Austin, Texas

Weylin Neyra (b. Miami, FL) is a painter working with themes of fragility, transformation, and the quiet pull between holding and breaking. Working in thin layered oil, he paints figures that often dissolve into soft, atmospheric spaces—compositions where identity feels porous, neither fixed nor fully formed.

Born to Nicaraguan parents, Neyra draws from cultural memory and the emotional undertow of displacement. Recurring symbols; glass vessels, orbs, shadows, and light, act as containers for meaning that resists settling. The surfaces hum with the tension between presence and disappearance, clarity and blur.
